We purchased the Hunter Fir Christmas tree from this company – Christmas Central. The tree looks good in the photograph! When you see it up close, it looks rubbery, and the colors do not look natural. We called today to return the tree, and they charge a $40.00 restocking fee for returning it (it’s a percentage of the purchase price.)

We purchased this tree with some trepidation as is was a little more money than the non PVC ones at Lowe’s, but less than the PVC ones. We didn’t like the way the non-PVC ones looked there at the store. So we took a chance and ordered it. It is heavy, and when we got it out and set it up initially, we were cautiously optimistic. The needles at the ends are the much-touted PVC, and further up the branches they are a more normal artificial looking needle. I can say with confidence, the machine that packs these trees into the box REALLY squeezes them down, and I also predict that the tree will never go back into the box it came out of. It took my wife and I three hours to shape the tree and fluff-up the branches, but now that it is done, the tree looks great. I respectfully disagree with the other reviewer that says they look rubbery. On the tree we purchased, they look great. Yes, if you thoroughly examine them at close range, you will discern that it is indeed an artificial tree, but from about three feet on back, it is difficult to tell, beyond that fact that real trees are seldom so uniform. Anyhow, we are very satisfied with our purchase, even though the tree is definitely greener than the kind of silvery one in the company photo. I put a couple photos in the ‘customer images’ section, one with flash, and one without.
